アカデミー賞ノミネーションの発表が今日だとは知りませんでしたが、ジュリー・クリスティに主演女優賞が行ってほしい『アウェイ・フロム・ハー君を想う』が彼女はもとより、監督のサラ・ポリーが脚色賞の候補になったので、良かったね！ということで。主演女優にヘレナが入らなかったかわりに、アイヴォリーの新作が待ち遠しいローラ・リニーが入ってよかった。彼女と言えばイーストウッド作品に二度出てましたが、音楽部門で期待された彼の作曲作品『さよなら。いずれわかること』が候補にならずびっくり。びっくりと言えば、やっぱりゴールデン・グローブを取るのは入らないことが多々ある歌曲賞で、エディ・ヴェダーの歌が入らず、その作品に出演したハル・ホルブルックがノーマークの助演男優賞候補に。ノーマークじゃないけど、急に注目度をあげたジューノーならぬ『ジュノ』のクリップを見たらエレン・ペイジ以外にも多数候補となりましたが、『ブル〜ス一家』のマイケル・セラだけじゃなくお父役のジェイソン・ベイトマンが出ていることがわかり、あのシリーズののりだったら苦手かもと...。
なお『潜水服』は演技はなかったけど技術部門も合わせて多数の候補となり嬉しゅうござんす。この作品は別に外国語映画賞のフランス代表ではなく、『ペルセポリス』だったんですが、その候補になならず、激戦の長編アニメ賞の候補に。外国語映画賞は他の映画賞で通常お決まりのように候補になっていた作品はかすりもせず、アンジェイ・ワイダ、ニキータ・ミハルコフとかオスカーらしいのばかりが候補となり、お好きにどうぞという感じ。フランスものは『エディット・ピアフ〜愛の讃歌〜』が主演女優賞以外にも技術賞でいくつも候補になりましたが、実在した人を演じるといつも受賞するので困ります。今回ばかりはジュリー・クリスティに行くよう！(BBCニュースは『つぐない』のキーラ・ナイトリーとジェイムズ・マカヴォイが選外となったのが幻滅とか言っていました。それは去年の『クィーン』のマイケル・シーンが選外となったことを思い出す...って、ふとよぎり)。
