トニー賞のノミネーションが発表となりました。思わぬものが無視されたりしてびっくりですが、とりあえず先日アウター・クリティック・サークル賞の最優秀新作ミュージカル賞を受賞した《ザナドゥ》が4部門候補になったのでホッと...。でも《グリース》1部門だと、両方の映画版に主演したオリビア・ニュートン＝ジョンの授賞式のゲスト出演企画というのの期待が...。《グリース》の主題歌を歌ったフランキー・ヴァリをゲストというのも《ジャージー・ボーイズ》のモデルなので悪くないけど。もとが元なのでえぐそうなジョン・ウォーターズのタイヘンな映画のミュージカル化第2弾《クライ・ベイビー》も同じ4つで取りそうな気配はないけど、作品候補なのでパフォーマンスが見られるのがうれしい。アウター〜をタイで受賞した《ヤング・フランケンシュタイン》は無視に近い3つじゃ盛り上がらないし (映画が強烈すぎるので、あのキャラを超すのは難しい)、作品候補じゃないからパフォーマンスもないが残念。どっちみち受賞は《イン・ザ・ハイツ》《ジョージの恋人》あたりでしょう。リバイヴァル上演は《ジョージ〜》にいってもらいたけど、《南太平洋》が評判のようなのでどうなるやら。《ジプシー》はいかなささそうな...。《ボーイング＝ボーイング》はクリスティーン・バランスキとかが候補にならなかったけど、マーク・ライランスとかロンドン組はしっかり候補になり、受賞の期待が。って、本当にアングロファイルなブロードウェイ関係者ばかりで、英国人の候補も多く受賞も多いので、大丈夫でしょう。なので、お英国発の舞台《危険な関係》をアメリカン発で上演したってだめで、ローラ・リニーも候補にならない...。がっくり。
司会はウーピー・ゴールドバーグなのでおもしろおかしく進行するだろうけど、トークで時間が押さないよう...。
